Each year, Granville is represented in the « Défi des Ports de Ports de Pêche »competition. Professionals of the sea, from all over the country race inteamsaboard sailing-boats.Moreover, on May 14th, the Marité - the last Newfoundland fishing vessel built in wood in 1912 – will sail into Granville harbour, its new home port.

On this occasion, an exhibition about the history of that sailboat is held in “Le Village du Marité” situated along the quays of the harbour.
